At the topping-out ceremony on May 20, 2022, it became clear what the plan had foreshadowed: The building in Harrislee reflects the great importance of the new regional control center in the northwest of Schleswig-Holstein, from Nordfriesland to Flensburg.
Impressive is probably the most fitting description of the 4,000 m² building as the future central control center for the police, emergency services and fire department. The size and flexibility planned in the design runs through the entire building: on the first floor, 70 m long corridors connect the social, technical, meeting and office rooms; the situation and telecommunications operations rooms on the upper floor with wide-span ceilings and beams are flooded with light thanks to the up to 7 m high skylight construction, the large window openings and the inner courtyard. The building concept also includes a wide range of options for extensions and conversions.
"The dimensions make the individual person seem infinitesimally small," says Stephan Hansen, describing his impression during the topping-out ceremony tour. "We are very pleased that the collaboration with all those involved in the planning process worked well on this complex building. Thanks to our 3D-based planning, even tricky intersections were clearly presented for the construction site, so that nothing stands in the way of us completing the project on schedule in 2023," says Hansen.
